Stained Glass Mosaic: Stepping Stone/Outdoor Wall Hanging/ Patio Table-top Mosaic

Attention: The registration for this workshop will close 3 days prior to the workshop Close of registration: May 31 2021.
With a mix of Stained Glass shapes and glass tiles you will create this wonderful mosaic which will last you for many years to come.
Over a period of 6 weeks you will learn how to cut, and grind pieces of glass and how to set a design upside down in a mold (or right side up on a disc of cement board depending on which one of the choices you have decided to make) then, we will cement it.
Those of you who would like to make a table top, you need to have the exact mesurement of your patio table (no larger than 12 inches).

The Stepping Stone mold is 10 inches diameter.
Remember, we are playing it safe for everyone so we wear our masks and keep our social distances at all times.

E-07-14 Mosaics Junior 3 Day Camp

Junior Mosaic Camp

This is a 3 day camp.
12 pm - 3 pm
$81 members | $90 non members
Tesserae: a small block of stone, tile, glass, or other material used in the construction of a mosaic.
Kitties, puppies, frogs, flowers, monsters, game controllers, wolves, bears, hearts, there will be a wide choice of substrate (base) for the participants to choose their favorite shapes.
Participants will learn how to cut, lay and glue tessarae on given surfaces to represent the details of their projects on the first day of our camp.
The second day will be focused on cementing the projects so the mosaic can be securely set on its support.
Once it is dry, the tessarea need to be cleaned over and over to then reveal the details of the work underneeth. we will acheive this on our third day of camp!
It is a fun way to construct picture and this technique can be applied to any substrate thereafter.
Rest assured that the Mansfield Art Center takes sanitation seriously at all times. For your protection and other’s, we kindly ask you to respect social distancing and to wear a mask for the duration of the workshop.
