Silk painting refers to the practice of applying paints or dyes to silk textiles.
Silk is a fine fiber made from the filaments of silkworm cocoons. When boiled and gently unwound, these pupal casings produce silk strands that can be combined into threads, which, in turn, can be used to make textiles.
Painting on silk is soothing and extraordinarily pleasing to watch. It is simply exquisite!
You will utilize all techniques of painting with salt, alcohol and watercolor. In this painting we will use the black resist and have the opportunity to play with many colors for your butterflies and background.
The design will be yours as you will have all kinds of butterflies patterns to help you compose your very own and pleasant painting.
You do not need to know how to draw. Painting on silk is easy and produce a very effective result.
Signed by the artist on a 22 x72 inches painting, you will have the opportunity to wear your art as a scarf, make it a present to your favorites person or simply hang it on your wall.
