THIS CLASS DOES NOT REQUIRE DRAWING SKILLS
In this series of classes learn the basics of watercolor so that you may be able to make beautiful paintings yourself and truly understand the materials. Each class will be broken into covering one important aspect of watercolor with the final class being a class dedicated to applying what you've learned as well as a chance to ask any questions and get feedback.
Class 1 will focus on materials, the best brushes, paper, paint, and how to use them. We will go over student grade vs professional grade supplies as well as other fun watercolor tools to experiment with.
Class 2 will focus on color theory and how that is applied to watercolor. We will create color wheels and color charts so that you may get a better understanding of your watercolor paints and how they mingle with one another.
Class 3 will focus on value and layering. Layering is a key part of watercolor, as the more you layer the darker the color will become. Learning this technique will enhance your understanding of the medium and ensure your paintings will be well balanced.
Class 4, apply what you've learned. We will be doing a small still life study (I will have it sketched out for you). Ask questions and get help from me during this session.
