A high interest Art Camp that does not fit inside any box!

In this camp, the arts and science collide as participants explore pendulum, painting , acrylic pouring, Crystal growing, prism art and much, much more!

This is a camp that is first and foremost a ton of fun, but also based around multiple artistic mediums and scientific processes.

If your youngster has a curious mind and a love for art, this course is especially designed to escalate that eagerness to actively learn in a lighthearted and enjoyable manner.

All young scientist and artists are welcome! 

Participants will recieve a snack each camp day. Please let us know on registration forms when arriving each day if your child has restrictions or allergies.                                                   

Remember, we are playing it safe for everyone so we wear our masks and keep our social distances at all times.

Maximum 10 participant per class.

Do you like animation? Do you like to draw? If you answer is yes to both of these questions, then lose no time and join the fun in this one of a kind Club Anime Camp!

Whether you are an artist or if you feel you are just learning about art and just like to draw-these classes will feed your creativity and improve your skills.

You will learn what anime characters are, what the history is and where it  comes from and how is it different from american cartooning.

You will make your own short comic manga! 

From week one to week 6 you will:

-Create a drawing and color your ideal character for your own story.

-Create a story line about your character, situation, plot and goals.

-Create the different characters who interact with your main character.

-Create your own short comic with 5 to 10 pages of comic Manga!

Yasminah, your instructor and Mansfield Art Center's former intern, will guide you into your story and drawing, with care and patience.

Yasminah Rawls , A student of The Ohio State University has created her own comic series and published her work with Dojo Comics in Mansfield, Ohio.

E-06-28 Youth Ceramic Camp-"Playin' In The Mud"

A wonderful Ceramic Camp to attend for the young people who wish to be in an immersion camp. 5-days of intense clay throwing on the wheel is an opportunity for the children to aquaint themselves with clay and learn the process and behaviors of clay, as well as the opportunity to hand-build when learning about patterns, textures and intricacies of sculpture.

Your instructor and local artist, Mike Swiderski, will guide you into this process by giving each participant individualized attention.  When learning something new, the product is never perfect the first time around, but with learning the proper techniques and the processes, you will soon gain a great deal of knowledge during each of these class sessions and artful skills that will bring you long lasting joy.

We ask that you make sure that your youth eat prior to coming to class and bring a drink and snack if they would like something to have when a break is given from playing "In the Mud"

Rest assured that the Mansfield Art Center takes sanitation seriously at all times. For your protection and other’s, we kindly ask you to respect social distancing and to wear a mask for the duration of the workshop.

In this Camp, the elements of S.T.E.A.M. collide as participants explore architecture, enginneering , mathematics and science, as it is applied to the world of art.

This engaging, interesting learning platform meant specifically for the curious artist is packed full of fun, new and transferable skills and vocabulary helping to understand the applicable inquiry learning through art. 

This is a camp that is first and foremost a ton of fun but also a challenge for the creative mind. Build cardboard cities, imrove experiment with fluid painting!

Emily Negro, Mansfield Art Center instructor is certified by the State of Ohio as an Art Educator; and is engaging, focused on the individual artist and adds layers of fun and learning to every class occassion.  

This camp is specifically designed to escalate that eagerness to learn in a lighthearted and enjoyable manner.

E-07-14 Mosaics Junior 3 Day Camp

Junior Mosaic Camp

July 14-16 

Wednesday, July 14,15,16 

This is a 3 day camp. 

 12 pm - 3 pm 

Ages: 9+

Instructor:Pia Douglas

$81 members | $90 non members

Tesserae: a small block of stone, tile, glass, or other material used in the construction of a mosaic.

Kitties, puppies, frogs, flowers, monsters, game controllers, wolves, bears, hearts, there will be a wide choice of substrate (base) for the participants to choose their favorite shapes. 

Participants will learn how to cut, lay and glue tessarae on given surfaces to represent the details of their projects on the first day of our camp.

The second day will be focused on cementing the projects so the mosaic can be securely set on its support. 

Once it is dry, the tessarea need to be cleaned over and over to then reveal the details of the work underneeth. we will acheive this on our third day of camp!

It is a fun way to construct picture and this technique can be applied to any substrate thereafter.
