Book your session for weekend glass blowing experiences at The MAC! Work with glass artist neal richmond to create a heart of glass sculpture.

In this session

• Sculpt a glass heart paperweight with your choice of colors (limit two per piece)
• Use traditional tools and techniques to manipulate solid glass
• Receive private instruction from a professional glassworker
• Retrieve your Heart after 24 hours to allow for annealing

Classes run Friday and Saturday from 1pm to 7pm. Each sculpture experience takes approximately 20 minutes. Please wear appropriate clothing (closed toed shoes, natural fibers if possible, and no excessively loose clothing)

Stained glass Pet Portraits

Every class will run from 1 to 7 pm 

Please send the picture and the name of your favorite animal as soon as possible as it takes me 4 hours minium to work on the picture. give me the name of your pet so I have a reference.

Make sure that the animal is well lit and that you can clearly see the eyes 

You will be making the portrait of one of your favorite animal (Dog, cat, horse, snake, rabbit ) during this 8 days class. Each portrait will be between 15 and 18 inches square.

You need to have a couple of beginner classes prior to this class.

You have the choice to make the portrait as a suncatcher such as the dog in the picture in the header or frame it with glass zinc and bevels as in the picture of the cat. there will be an additional $75 for a framed portrait added at check out.

This year, Valentines just so happens to be on a Saturday creating a 'Friday the 13th' right before Valentines day, so in spirit of this let us make some spooky themed candygram/cookies.  In this class students can make as many cookies as their heart desires... as long as each cookie can get the attention it requires, being proper smoothed and getting a least a splash of color.  Undergalze will be used during this class to allow the application of color to take place on the same day as creation! Students may choose where to have their cookies remain "dull" creating a realistic shortbread look, or to have a clear glaze applied creating a smooth glossy surface on the face of the cookies.

It has been asked "What is a candygram?" Traditionally a candygram is a sweet or confectionary sent to another person with a small message for the recipient traditionally on Valentine's day, though they can be sent at other holidays or times.  These sweets are generally anonymous but can incude the senders name if wanted.

This project will be ready for pickup 1-2 weeks from the date of the class.

Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm

**Ages: 14+ 

This class is all about decorating! The heart box and its lid come premade, all they need is some color.  We will add color and some shine to this box by using glaze to paint with, they can be done in solid colors or by painting a design or message upon the piece. These pieces will then be fired in a kiln to allow the glaze to mature and permenantly bind to the piece. 

Depending on the Artist this class may take a longer or shorter amount of time determined by the patterns/colors and decoration of the piece.
**((Due to the nature of this being a glazing class it is not ideal for younger children))

They will be ready for pickup 1-2 weeks from the date of the class.

Stained Glass Terrarium 

February 14-21-28  

Instructor: Pia Douglas 

Ages: 16 + to adult

 If you can't plant outside then le'ts try to bring our little garden indoors!

This is an advance class for students who know how to cut glass precisely.

you will learn how to work with a dodecahydron shape in order to create this terrarium. An opening will be made so you can put gravel and a plant inside.

The terrarium will be made out of clear glass.

This is a long class so be prepared to have something to drink and a snack with you (if you wish). For safety reasons, please make sure that you have closed shoes and your long hair tied-back.

Ages: 16+ (Young Teen and Adult) 

In this class students will be able to create up to four birds, intended to be made in pairs of two this would create a pair to keep and a pair to give.  They can be glazed to look like any kind of bird, please come to class with an idea of what kind of bird, as it may change the bodyshape or features of the bird you create! These birds can be as complex or as simple as the artist would like, each bird may be made individually or attached in a pair depending on the artist's wishes.

The Glaze date for this class is Feburary 21st, if this date does not work for you please reach out to the email listed below. This project will be ready for pickup 1-2 weeks from the Glazing session of the class.
