Stained Glass Mushroom for Beginners

August 20 and 21

5 to 8 pm

$61.20 members | $68 non- members

Ages: 16+ to adults

Skill Level:No experience required

Students will create 3  stained glass mushrooms suncatcher using the copper foil method.

The class covers glass cutting basics (score, break, and shape), grinding edges, foiling, soldering, and adding a hanging ring. Each student completes 3 mushrooms with stems, cap, optional spots, and a wire hanger. All tools and materials provided. Take-home piece is ready to hang in a window.

*Fun fact: Mushrooms have been glassified in art since Victorian times—though back then they were more likely to be poisonous curiosities than cute window décor. Bonus: if you mess up the soldering, just call it an "abstract fungi." No one can argue with mycology.*

This is a long class so be prepared to have something to drink and a snack with you (if you wish). For safety reasons, please make sure that you have closed shoes and your long hair tied-back. please bring a kitchen towel to dry your pieces.

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  Please feel free to contact us at 419.756.1700 or pia@mansfieldartcenter.org
