Stained Glass Spring bees

May: 04-2025 

1 to 6  pm

Age:16 and up 

Although created to accompany the sunflower Spinner, these little bees can easily be put in a pot as a planter! We will be using a deep yellow glass as well as an iridescent black. we will finish with a little wire work for antennas and feet.

During the class you can make up to 3 bees and use them with the spinner or stand alone as a planter. 

Remember to bring a dish cloth to dry your pieces. 

 This is a long class so be prepared to have something to drink and a snack with you (if you wish). For safety reasons, please make sure that you have closed shoes and your long hair tied-back.

  Treat your loved one ( it is mother's day after all) to a fun afternoon making a friend planter. let you imagination run for the decoration of your planter pick the colors of your acrylic paint, the shape, male, female, or animal the choice is what you want it to be. add ribbon or beads. attach hands and feet and you are ready to plant a beautiful plant for hair

2025  Art Exploration Summer Camps

The 2025 Art Exploration Summer Camps at the Mansfield Art Center offers a unique and innovative approach to creative learning through STEAM learning methods. This camp is designed for children who love art and want to explore a variety of creative techniques, materials, and mediums in a fun and educational environment.

Throughout the camp, children will create art in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, 3D printing, glassblowing, block printing, fiber art, sewing puppet making , jewelry, Acrylic painting, performing arts, silk painting, machine kintting, wood working, chromatography, hydrodipping.

The camp will be led by an experienced and dedicated team of teachers  who specialize in each medium being taught!

Each day, children will create new projects that combine artistic expression with scientific inquiry and technological innovation. For example, they learn to create a 3D printed project, drawing, painting, watercoloring using geometric shapes, perspective, and theory of color. Throughout each project, they will explore the creative process and gain valuable skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Children will also experience the art of rythm and movements in space as well as performing art  to complete their atistic experience.

The camps will be divided into age groups, with activities and instruction tailored to each group's level and interests. The camp will also include a walkthrough through the Mansfield Art Center Museum (if a show is currently being exhibited). All materials and supplies will be provided, and children will be encouraged to experiment and explore different materials to develop their own unique creative voice. Each child will additionally need to bring a lunch each day of camp.

The Mansfield Art Center's Art Exploration Summer Camps for children are an excellent and unique opportunity for children to develop their artistic skills, gain valuable knowledge in STEAM education, and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment.

Please arrive earlier at the beginning of each camp to fill up the paper work, (approximately 5 to 10 mn).

The children will perform during the end of camp ceremony to celebrate the complition of their artistic work. The Ceremony will commence at 2.30 in the pavillion on Fridays.
